Chair Yoga and Mindfulness for People with MS, & conditions affecting mobility

“The seated yoga has enabled me to devote some time which is just for myself, to focus on my own body and what its doing (or not doing). There is very little available (for people who have limited mobility) in terms of exercising body and mind so the seated yoga has been most welcome. Chrissy has a lot of empathy with regard to the varied needs of the group, and involves everyone, without being condescending (not an easy task). There is scope for everyone to go at their own pace. I would recommend the seated yoga to anyone however limited their mobility, and we always have a laugh and coffee afterwards.” Sam

“I hadn't done any Yoga before I started coming to these classes. I find that they are definitely helping me to keep more supple and are also helping with the pain in my limbs. Chrissy has researched really well to find yoga poses that we can do sitting down, and always suggests alternatives if any of us are finding a particular pose too difficult. The classes are fun too, and we often have a great laugh. The meditation towards the end is fantastic, really helping to put me in a relaxed, calm and positive frame of mind.” Carol

“I attend Chrissy's chair yoga class. It is very special to be able to join in an activity where being in a wheelchair does not preclude me from joining in fully. I can do everything because Chrissy tailors the movements to take account of participants physical limitations. I feel that each individual is encouraged to do whatever they can but not made to feel "left out" if a particular activity is too taxing, in fact Chrissy often adapts on the fly if she sees anyone struggling. I have no hesitation in recommending Chrissy as a yoga teacher, she is a lovely person and a gifted instructor." Jane

"Chrissy's chair yoga has become an important part of my week. I particularly enjoy the guided mindful relaxation. Chrissy is always encouraging and her teaching full of gentle humour." Judith
